This month when IT and business leaders convene at the Orlando, FL, conference, OpenText hopes a big part of that conversation will be about Project Red Oxygen.
Oxygen for CIOs
OpenText — based in Waterloo, ON — announced today it will unveil Project Red Oxygen at Enterprise World 2013, which it said is a "choreographed release of software" that will help CIOs "drive an agenda of innovation and growth to accelerate time to compete in the information economy."
OpenText CEO Mark J. Barrenechea plans to introduce Project Red Oxygen during his November 20 keynote at the conference, which runs from November 17-21. Responding to CMSWire questions about Red Oxygen, OpenText officials said more information is forthcoming.
Innovation Plans
Conference organizers are excited about a new innovation track — hands-on sessions that will address the “future of and the notion of enterprise information," as Deb Lavoy, director of strategic marketing for OpenText (and a CMSWire columnist), told us in September.
What does it mean, and where are we going with this? We’re not suggesting we are the only ones with the answers. We are suggesting that what we need to do as an ecosystem is to get together and have a conversation.”
Barrenechea predicted in a statement this week that "what happens over the course of this conference will have an impact on the next 12 months of enterprise information management, and delegates that truly engage in the show will leave with the tools, information and inspiration needed to make a significant impact on their organization.”
Conference Highlights
The conference will include:
- Executive Leadership Forum: In this invitation-only event, top C-level executives will come together for roundtable and panel discussions focused on the new strategic role of enterprise information and the CIO, and its impact on the CEO and CMO. These will be moderated by John Dvorak, acclaimed author and columnist.
- Techie Tuesday: An Enterprise World first, this day will be dedicated to deep dive technical discussions with OpenText technology experts. Sessions will be organized into six streams: ECM, BPM, CEM, Discovery, Information Exchange and Application Development.
- EIM technology and industry-specific track keynotes: John Mancini, AIIM, Bruce Temkin, The Temkin Group, Jim Sinur, author, thought leader and Gartner emeritus, Alan Weintraub, Forrester Research.
- Training and conference breakout sessions: The Enterprise World Training program features courses and workshops presented by OpenText experts, educators and developers. More than 200 sessions will take place throughout the whole conference with more than 50 customers anticipated to participate as panelists or presenters.
- Innovation Track and Lab: IT leaders, enterprise architects and information and business strategists will have a chance to take part in a conversation that explores the opportunities of the information enterprise. Enterprise World participants can also test out the latest OpenText products at the Lab.
- Enterprise Expo: The latest products from OpenText and partners.
- OpenText Heroes Awards: This reception and awards ceremony celebrates OpenText customers and their successes and innovation in implementing OpenText solutions to overcome business challenges and better manage their information.

What has OpenText been up to outside of planning its conference? Being named by Gartner and Forrester as an influencer in the Enterprise Content Management market, for one.
