Cloud-based document sharing provider, Box and social business software provider Jive, have released Box for Jive, which enables users to manage and share content across both platforms.
Introducing Box for Jive
Productivity and organization is often achieved by having documents and files in an easily accessible format. With this idea in mind, Box created Box for Jive, an integrated content sharing tool that allows users to work from both platforms simultaneously. For example, if a person is working on project in Jive, they are able to store and upload files to their Box account.
By teaming together, Jive and Box are offering customers a new way to work, helping them leave silos and older systems behind and instead focus on increasing productivity and realizing real business value,” said Nathan Rawlins, vice president of product marketing at Jive.
By combining the two platforms users are able collaborate with colleagues and sync comments on Box documents through both platforms, upload files to Box from the Jive platform, access content across a range of devices including mobile and tablets and also collaborate on documents through Microsoft Outlook and Office programs.
Thinking Outside the Box
This release was part of the Jive “Spring Cloud Release” in which the company aims to “take the busyness out of business”:
The improvements … are designed to extend the company’s Social Business Platform capacity to serve as an alternative, and in theory more appropriate, medium for workplace collaboration than email," said Juan Carlos Perez of PC World.
Along with Jive for Box, Jive has also launched Purposeful Places, a workspace tool that can integrate with both Box and Salesforce.com so marketers and sales representatives can develop more effective marketing campaigns. Other updates and new releases include an enhanced API and integration with Salesforce.com so that users can see account, opportunity and Chatter update information from the Jive Deal Room.
The new additions empower people to collaborate and communicate within a seamlessly social and integrated experience to make decisions faster and take immediate action to deliver tangible business outcomes,” said Oudi Antebi, senior vice president of product management and design for Jive.
Improving Storage and Collaboration with Box
As one of many content sharing tools, Box is always working to set itself apart from its competitors. In addition to these Spring releases, the company has added a feature that lets users update and edit documents in the cloud, updated some of its mobile apps and added a single sign-on feature.
